My friend Jeff Parise asked me to pose for an art session in which he did a portrait of me... I was flattered because I have seen and liked some of his works depicting several people I know... and so he did this painting of me.... It's interesteing when an artist does a portrait of you because sometimes they see things about you that reveal different views and interpretations about a person...
I see a lot of things about me in this painting.... and had a really interesting coversation with Jeff about what I saw as well as things he saw when he was painting me.... but I was just curious as to what others (who somewhat know me) see.... So I thought I'd post this painting here and ask what you see of me in this artwork.....
check it out and let me know what you can interpret from it.....

Re: a painting of me by Jeff Parise...
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 6:09 PMIt looks like a carny or a bad clown. A wild hedonists that is untrustworthy and skilled at manipulating other people. That oozing frill seems to sugest that the subject is a lecherous person whoose selfish desires are completely out of control. And a skanky apperance to match his lack of morals.
It looks to me like the complete opposite of who you are. A very caring clown who is very intrested in other people's well being. A person who's strength and handsomeness matches his sensitivity, thoughtfulness and restraint. -

Re: a painting of me by Jeff Parise...
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 8:37 PMWow... I hadn't heard that interpretation yet... that's really interesting!
since I know that artist that painted me and how he paints, I hadn't seen this.... but I did see certain uncomfortable things in there as well as some brighter interpretations...
it does look like a carny..or hobo type clown to me too though and it looks like I have a mask on the jaw parts of the face... one that hides the truer me which I think is somewhere in the eyes
I appreciate your view of me (the caring clown....) that's really uplifting to hear... thanks xica!
